Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh meets HM Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi. A day earlier, Captain Amarinder Singh denied all the speculation that he would meet HM Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda. The meeting between HM Shah and Captain Amarinder Singh lasts for around 45 minutes, reflects a severe drawback to Punjab Congress.
According to the reports, Captain is likely to join BJP very soon and be awarded a great position within the party. This move by BJP will make the party stronger in Punjab and potentially reduce the tension created due to Farmers agitation, majorly in the State of Punjab.
Therefore, the move played by BJP and Captain Amarinder Singh will weaken the Congress party in the State of Punjab and might also hamper the reputation of Congress and its High Command in the eyes of the public. Amid the Punjab Political Crisis, the loss of Captain Amarinder Singh and the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu severely impact Congress Party in the upcoming Punjab State Legislative Assembly Elections.
