The maritime test of India's first traditional aircraft (IAC) Vikrant, the world's largest and most complex naval vessel, began its test at sea on Wednesday.

The 40,000-ton airline pilot began naval tests, 50 years after its name played a major role in the 1971 war.
The air traffic controller is expected to be assigned to the Indian navy in the second half of the following year.

"This is a proud and historic day in India as Vikrant (IAC) is reborn visiting his maritime tests today in the 50th anniversary of the important role that preceded him in winning the 1971 war," said Indian Navy Commander Vivek Madhwal. .

He said it was the largest and most complex warship ever designed and built in India.
"It is a time of pride and history in our quest for 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-confident India) and 'Make in India'," he said.

"With the construction of traditional airlines, India is joining a select group of countries with limited capacity to design, build and assemble a high-quality airlines," said Commander Madhwal.
