New Delhi: Ahead of the assembly elections in Punjab next year, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday promised free electricity in that state if his Aam Aadmi Party wins the elections.
A day before his Chandigarh visit, the AAP leader also claimed that women in Punjab were very unhappy with the price rise.
"...in Delhi, we give 200 units of free electricity to every family. Women are very happy. Women in Punjab are also very sad about inflation. AAP government will give free electricity in Punjab also. See you tomorrow in Chandigarh, Kejriwal said in Punjabi I tweeted.

AAP spokesperson and Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha said that the Punjab Chief Minister's Office has not allowed the party to hold a press conference at a pre-determined venue.
Mr. Chadha said Mr. Kejriwal would make a "mega announcement" in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Captain Amarinder Singh's fear of Kejriwal has reached such an extent that his office has denied us permission to hold a press conference at a pre-determined venue. Nevertheless, @ArvindKejriwal will make a mega announcement tomorrow in Chandigarh that will send 440V current to Capt. party," Mr. Chadha tweeted.
Assembly elections in Punjab are to be held in February or March next year.
