The Lakhimpur tussle happened between BJP workers and the protesting farmers that killed around eight people, 4-4 of each side. The Lakhimpur tussle also created a new issue for the UP Politics targeting Uttar Pradesh Legislative assembly Polls early next year.
Many opposition leaders tried to reach the incident scene but were eventually prevented by the Police by backing Section 144. Priyanka Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Chandrashekhar Azad Raavan, Sanjay Singh and several others were detained when trying to reach the scene of an incident without seeking permission. Punjab CM Charan Jeet Singh Channi and Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel were also prevented from reaching Uttar Pradesh.
Some political giants also took this incident to Twitter or other social media platforms to express their views. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said it is equivalent to destroying the democratic values; Congress leader Rahul Gandhi termed Priyanka's and Congress as fighting for 'annadatta' will be in Non-violent seeking for Justice. Farm Leaders, including Rakesh Tikait, advocated the arrest of the BJP Minister and his son, who were allegedly involved in the incident.
The leaders of the opposition alleged that BJP is violating the fundamental right to move to any territory of the nation freely. In contrast, BJP backed their decision by saying they are doing so to prevent further violence and riots in the State that might trigger the arrival of all these Ministers. PDP Leader Mehboba, NC Leader Umar Abdullah and WB CM Mamta Banerjee also targeted and set BJP responsible for the act and even compared the State of UP with Kashmir.
Apart from this situation, the UP government announced compensation for those who died in this brutal and barbaric tussle at Lakhimpur. The government announced that 45 Lakh and government jobs for either of the family members would be given to the families of those who died, and ten lakhs would be given to those who were injured due to the consequence of the act. By taking one step forward, the UP government announced that a retired High Court Judge would take the probe into his hands.
Therefore, the political gains for opposition parties have increased at a vast level after this incident. With this, Western UP has become the main centre of politics to target the CM's seat in upcoming UP polls for all the Political parties.
Several leaders of the Farmers protest are found close allies of several opposition parties, including SP, and the tussle is created by the pre-planned act of anti-social and anti-developmental elements.
It is crystal clear that the leaders of opposition parties are only targeting the UP Polls and trying to demolish or dismantle the image of UP CM Yogi Adityanath and the ruling BJP government before the commencement of polls.
