TMC goons attacked West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh and prominent BJP leader Arjun Singh on the last day of the campaigning for Bhabanipore bypolls for which the voting is scheduled on September 30. TMC goons attacked the BJP chief Dilip Ghosh at South Kolkata, where he went for campaigning; likewise, BJP leader Arjun Singh also faced some harsh situations while campaigning for BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal from Bhabanipore.
It was alleged that the BJP chief was kicked, pushed and heckled by the TMC goons; the situation became critical that his bodyguards were forced to take out guns to disperse the crowd comprised of locals and TMC goons. Several video's of the attack emerged rapidly on social media and news channels, showing the BJP leader is surrounded by an uncontrolled mob and the security personnel's struggling to save the leader.
The Election Commission of India also sought a report over the tussle between TMC and BJP workers and over leaders during campaigning for bypolls held in South Kolkata. The Election Commission of India also directed the State Government to submit the report by this evening.
Mamata Banerjee is contesting for the Bypolls from Bhabanipore because she loses to Suvendu Adhikari during the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Elections at Nandigram constituency. According to the rules, the CM candidate of the party must have to win a seat to continue in office after six months. BJP has given a ticket to Priyanka Tibrewal, whereas CPI fielded Srijib Biswas against Mamata for Bhabanipore bypolls.
Therefore, with this instance, we can say that the West Bengal State Government again failed to deliver its duty to safeguard law and order in the State. The behaviour of the Police is also lying under question, as the police personnel's are not even concerned about the harsh and violent situations arising in the State and are found to be ignorant. This type of governance in the State depicts the return of Hitler or Mussolini's cruel and fanatic rule. The presentation of Bigotry in a democratic country like this is very shameful.
