Punjab Political Turmoil: Sidhu quits as State President, Captain left for Delhi

Navjot Sidhu and Captain Amarinder

Punjab Political crisis is at its peak as, during morning hours, Captain Amrinder Singh decided to leave for Delhi by calling it a personal visit, several speculations arisen over his meeting with HM Shah. On the other hand, while approaching evening hours, Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Punjab State President.

Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu written a resignation letter to Congress High Command by expressing his dissatisfaction as surviving Punjab President. According to the reports, it has been said that Sidhu was having concerns with CM Channi over Cabinet reshuffle, majorly over appointments.

Captain Amrinder Singh, after bombarding over Sidhu's resignation and calling him an "unstable man", left for Delhi as a personal visit. The speculation over Captain joining BJP is triggered as the reports emerged that he would constitute a meet with HM Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda.

Amid a severe turmoil in Punjab Congress, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi with her family found enjoying vacations in Shimla. This unprofessional behaviour by Congress leadership is one the most prominent result of Punjab Political turmoil.

Therefore, the instability in Punjab Congress will directly affect the upcoming 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly Elections. The Congress High command failed to control or resolve disputes within the party. As a result of the same State's two most prominent leaders Captain Amarinder and Navjot Sidhu, are puzzled and troubled within the party.

Congress High Command seems sidelining the issue by constituting a ceremony at ITO for welcoming Jignesh Mevani and Kanhaiya Kumar in the Congress Party with strengthening the youth brigade of Congress.
