Ashraf Ghani and Amrullah Saleh may return to Afghanistan if they want says Afghan Taliban Leader

If the reports are to be believed, the Afghan Taliban have pardoned Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and vice-president Amrullah Saleh, allowing them to return to the country if they wish.

Haqqani said, "We are sorry for Ashraf Ghani, Amrullah Saleh and Hamdullah Mohib," adding that animosity between the Taliban and the three was based solely on religion.

The leader said, "We forgive everyone from the end; from the general (who fought in the war against us) to the common man."

He also urged people not to flee the country, adding that the "enemy" was spreading propaganda that the Taliban would retaliate against them.

"The Tajiks, the Baloch, the Hazaras and the Pasuns are all brothers. All Afghans are our brothers and sisters, so they can return to the country. The only reason for our hostility was the desire to change the system. And the system has changed now," he added.

Haqqani said the Taliban were not the ones, going to war against the US.
