New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar has passed away at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. He was 98 years old. Dilip Kumar was rushed to the hospital last Wednesday after he complained of breathlessness - the second time he was admitted in the same month. Dr. Jalil Parkar, who was treating Dilip Kumar, "He passed away at 7.30 am due to prolonged illness.

Two days ago, Saira Banu shared this message on Dilip Kumar's Twitter: "We are grateful for the immense mercy of God on Dilip Sahab that his health is improving.
We are still in the hospital and request your prayers and prayers inshallah he is well and discharged soon."
Dilip Kumar was earlier taken to the hospital on June 6 and was kept on oxygen support and stable. Politician Sharad Pawar had gone to meet him. A tweet from the actor's official handle shared the update: "Don't believe the WhatsApp forward. Saab is stable.
Thank you for your heartfelt prayers and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days." Dilip Kumar was discharged on June 11.
Dilip Kumar was battling ailments ranging from kidney ailment to pneumonia for the past few years. A few years back, the actor spent his 94th birthday in the hospital, where he was being treated for fever and swollen feet.
Dilip Kumar, who would have turned 99 in December, is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Saira Banu.
