PM Modi to address Healthcare Workers on National Doctors Day, hosted by IMA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address a healthcare workers on Thursday to celebrate National Doctors Day in the country amid coronavirus Pandemic (Covid-19). This event will be hosted by the IMA (Indian Medical Association).

Moving towards the Twitter, PM tweeted his address will be on Thursday. PM Modi Stated in his tweet that, "India is proud of the efforts of all doctors in fighting Covid-19. 1st July is marked as National Doctors Da. At 3 PM tomorrow, will address the doctors community at a programme orgaised by @IMAIndiaOrg."

The prime minister praised the role played by the community of health workers who were at the forefront of the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. Prime Minister Modi also thanked the healthcare workers for helping the country fight the two deadly waves of coronavirus in the country, stabilizing the developing economy and public health infrastructure.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi spoke about doctors in his keynote address at Mann Ki Baat's weekly address as he praised their role in nation building.

“A few days from now, on July 1, we will be celebrating National Doctors Day. This day is dedicated to celebrating the birthday of the great physician and state official, Dr. BC Roy. We are all grateful for the contribution of doctors during the Corona era. Our doctors have worked for us without caring for their health. Therefore, at this time National Doctors Day is becoming very special, ”said Premier Modi of Mann Ki Baat.

Doctors Day is honored in honor of the well-known doctor and former West Bengal CM Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose birth and death date falls on July 1. He founded the Indian Medical Association in 1928, the Medical Council of India, the Indian Institute of Mental Health, Infectious Disease Hospital and the first medical college in Kolkata. Roy was also honored with the Barat Ratna.
