Former Telangana Health Minister and TRS legislator Eetala Rajender announced his resignation from a press conference, thus ending his 19-year relationship with Telangana both of the party and the state legislature. He is expected to submit his resignation to the Speaker of Parliament, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy soon. He plans to join the BJP in a few days when the home affairs minister is discharged from hospital. Speaking at a press conference at his residence in Shamirpet, he criticized Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for expelling him without elaborating on the allegations against him and his family.

He said the distance between him and Chandrasekhar Rao grew and deepened in five years. He said the CM had humiliated him in many cases and T Harish Rao also suffered a lot of humiliation. In addition, the Rajender alleged that the CM had insulted him by bringing him back along with ministers and Members from the gates of Pragathi Bhavan and the farmhouse. He added that he did not want to be treated as a slave because of his position as minister. Many leaders were sent out of the party, he accused them of. Rajender said he had won multiple terms as an MP, and won the election whenever the party nominated him as a candidate.

Other Rajender supporters include former legislator Enugu Ravinder, Karimnagar and former ZP chairperson Tula Uma, who also resigned from TRS. Some of his followers including Gandra Nalini, Lata, Ande Babaiah, BK. Mahesh, Hanumantha Rao and Sridevi.
