“Pandita succumbed to injuries whereas the daughter of his friend is seriously wounded,” stated Vijay Kumar, the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir).
Police said Pandita was living in a safe area in Srinagar and was handed over to two security guards, but they did not accompany him when he went to visit his friend.
“The councilor was not accompanied by PSOs during his visit to Tral. Police and soldiers protected the area and a massive search operation was launched to apprehend the attackers, ”stated by a police officer.
BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur condemned the killings. “Such attacks will not deter BJP leaders from serving the people. He said assaulting unarmed people was not a brave thing and the police should pursue the criminals and punish them accordingly, ”said Thakur.
Several Jammu and kashmir based local leaders like former CM Mehbooba Mufti, People's Conference Chairman Sajjad Lone and JK LG Manoj Sinha condemned the attack.
Therefore, the harsh situation in Kashmir is still persisting on a wider range as their many attack's happening on regular intervals. This clearly dipicts that someone from inside is definitely helping those terrorist by bribing their nation or country to satisfy their love for Pakistan. The armed forces must find out these traitors to get rid of this terrorism.
