IPL suspended for an indefinite period, as players found positive due to surge in Covid-19 cases

Indian Premier League (IPL) got hit hardly by the Surge in the covid-19 cases due to which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended the tournament for an indefinite period as confirmed by the BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla. Recently, many players came into contact with the virus, and as a result of that their Bio-bubble got infected due to which the match scheduled between RCB and KKR also got postponed. 


The situation even persists alarming due to which many matches got postponed in the queue. The match scheduled between the MI-SRH and CSK-RR got postponed due to staff members and CSK bowling coach found positive. Several players also found Covid-19 positive which includes SHR batsman Wrridhiman Saha, DC spinner Amit Mishra, KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy and KKR player Sandeep Warrier in an ongoing tournament.


Earlier, many of the players declared themselves ruled out of the IPL due to a massive surge in the Covid-19 cases in the country.

DC spinner R. Ashwin, RCB player Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa granted leave from the tournament due to a massive surge in the cases whereas players like Pat Cummins donated some amount in PM Care’s fund to those who are suffering.

Therefore, the immense rise in the Covid-19 cases causes disturbance in the ongoing tournament as the situation is becoming worsen for the players. The players and ground staff members are strictly following the conditions imposed by the Central and state government even that much security the virus infected the Bio-Bubble. This shows that the situation in the country is very tensed and needs some extra care and BCCI also hinted that it will continues after the wrap of T-20 world cup, 2021.
