Google unveils its Quantum AI campus, working on error-corrected quantum computer by 2029

 Quantum Computer: Search engine official Google announced on I / O Tuesday that we have been working on building a useful and error-filled quantum computer for the past decade. Now, the tech giant has unveiled its location in Santa Barbara based on Quantum AI where it will be operating in technology. The campus has hardware research facilities, a quantum data center and quantum processor chip design resources. With the help of this technology, Google hopes that major problems such as global hunger and climate change can be solved.

The development came about a year and a half after the tech giant claimed to have acquired quantum size, in which he said the calculations that could take a traditional computer 10,000 or more years to complete were done with its quantum computer within just 200 seconds. Quantum Elevation refers to a milestone in which a quantum computer could perform calculations that would not be possible on a traditional computer.

However, several companies have been working on their quantum computers, and have also questioned the progress Google claims to have made. Back when Google announced its quantum size achievement, IBM had said that calculations made by its quantum computer could be done in 2.5 days or even less than a traditional computer, casting doubt on the development of a search engine giant.

The Quantum computer operates in qubits or quantum bits instead of standard bits and has the potential to significantly increase the amount of data that can be processed, reaching faster speeds. According to Google, this additional processing power can help to accurately replicate molecules, therefore, the environment, which could allow companies to build more efficient carbon fertilizers, better battery design, or more highly targeted pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This, it means, is possible because quantum computers can perform precise simulations before investing in real world signals.

But as Google claims to have achieved quantum size, it still has to go a long way before it can build a useful quantum computer, says a Mountain View-based company. This is especially true because the current quantum computers are made with less than 100 qubits and Google has indicated to do so with 10,00,000 quopits. This will be done in a multi-stage process, the first of which will be to reduce errors made with qubits. It will then combine 1,000 qubits of flesh to form one logical qubit, which will form the basis of the quantum transistor.

Google, however, is certain of its challenging journey ahead, with Quantum AI systems scientist in charge of Hartmut Neven saying they have all the essentials and a roadmap on how to achieve what they set out to do, which gives them confidence.
