Lalu Prasad Yadav

CBI has given a clean chit to Lau Prasad Yadav Former RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) leader and railway minister in DLF Bribery Cases. Lalu Prasad Yadav is currently out on the bail since April after staying in jail for 3 long years in a fodder scandal case and due to poor health issues also.

According to the reports, the Economic Offence Branch of CBI in January 2018 stated a preliminary inquiry over the corruption charges against the RJD leader and DLF Group (real estate developer).

The Case:

The allegations stated that the DLF group has bribed the Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav with the property in South Delhi to receive the rail land lease project in Mumbai’s Bandra and  New Delhi railway upgradation project also was in demand.

Earlier, it was alleged that a shell company known as AB Exports Private Limited bought a property for around Rupees 5 Crore in the year 2007 in New Friends Colony located in South Delhi Province of Delhi. The reports suggested that the property was funded by the DLF Group which has been linked through several Shell Companies. It is also claimed that in the reports that the actual price of that property was Rupees 30 Crore which Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav and his daughter, Chanda Yadav and Ragini Lalu brought it for just Rupees 4 Lakh.

Therefore, in the above-mentioned Bribery case, the CBI has given clean chit to Lalu and his family as they don’t find any proof in the preliminary inquiry. The Scandals in the country are continuously coming out and this can even degrade the image of the politician as they have to answer the public when they demand votes.
