Sonali Guha, a former Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader who defected to the Baratiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the March-April polls, on Saturday regretted over her decision to join BJP and said that "I wanted to return to the West Bengal ruling party. In a tweet tagging, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who took office this month, Guha said herdecision to join the BJP was wrong."
Guha is a four-time lawmaker and Biswas is a former
Indian football captain, has been a member of the legislature once. The two
joined BJP in March this year.
“Just like a fish that cannot survive without water,
I cannot live without Mamata Banerjee. I getting suffocated in BJP. I am
severing all ties with BJP and would
join TMC whenever Didi [Banerjee] calls me, ” Guha stated in front of
reporters.
Dipendu Biswas, another former TMC leader, earlier
this week left BJP. A former TMC civic body chief in Cochoch Behar district,
who joined the BJP before the election, has also left the party. Biswas did not
announce his future political plans and said that he will now start focusing on
football.
Meanwhile, the experts believes that due to excessive
political violence the BJP leaders workers are living the part so that they can
protect themselves and their family. The fear of TMC in Bengal is that much
high that TMC workers are committing non-stop crimes against BJP workers and
those who voted for BJP. Some reports also suggested that the around
20000-30000 people have migrated from West Bengal after TMC won the election.
Therefore, this type of behavior by the contested
leaders clearly shows that are not attached to the ideology, but they want to
win the seat as before elections the wave is towards BJP so they joined BJP. The
workers and leaders of TMC have no faith and awe towards their ideology, they
only want to brighten their career.
