The West Bengal election has just finished after a landslide victory marked by the TMC Supremo Mamta Banerjee. BJP loses the election with a considerable gains compared to the 2016 Legislative Assembly Election. This election marks the emergence of strong opposition in the state with a vote share of 38.01%.
The Violence in Bengal is triggered just
after the poll result is declared. The BJP party offices are torched and
attached by the TMC workers at large whereas the homes got looted and blazed to
those who voted for BJP. The BJP on the other hand decided to do “Dharna
Pradarshan” instead of placing President Rule in Bengal. These alarming circumstances
fuel the mass level killings or execution which happens in Bengal.
Fanatic Ideology in West Bengal
The massacre at the mass level which is
seen in Bengal can only be done by a spineless or people with fanatic ideology.
This leads to a massive riots and protests which may lead to the emergence of
communalism and doing politics on type of matters is nowadays is very common
especially in Bengal. The people of Bengal earlier also faced these types of
violent clashes when the left rule’s Bengal.
The fanatic ideology in Bengal is witnessed in many regions of Bengal. On Ram Navmi celebration day, Asansol witnessed a violent clash in which 10 people were arrested and 2-3 people died whereas last year some clashes based on the religious background were also reported in Bengal.
Polarization of votes in West Bengal
Mamta Banerjee also did the polarization of Muslim votes. She appealed minorities to come together and vote as TMC is pledged to protect them from the CAA and NRC law of the central government. The politics in Bengal primarily focused on targeting the minority votes by hook and crock rather raising concerns on developmental issues. This vote bank and appeasement politics by Mamata Banerjee created the anti-Hindu mindset among Bengalis.
The infiltration of Bangladeshi and
Rohingyas in the state allowed increasing the vote bank by issuing the
essential documents and cards which make them a citizen of India. However, the
biggest threat to the Bengali people is that these real outsiders are one of
the main reasons for destroying Bengali culture.
Appeasement politics in West Bengal
The appeasement of votes by TMC can be
understandable as TMC supremo Mamta Banerjee announced the "Imam
Bhata" of Rs.2500 and Rs.1500 for each Muezzin at the Mosques by
neglecting the interests of other religion in the state.
The Mamta rule in Bengal also retrenched the time limit for the immersion of the Durga idols on Durga Puja due to the Muharram processions has to take place on the same day.
However, Hindu apprehension in the state has risen to the greatest level as law and order in the state doesn’t seem favorable to the Hindus. It is reported that people of different ideologies in Bengal are not treated well by the government which represents the true sense of dictatorship in the state.
Violence in West Bengal
The violence is triggered by Mamta Benerjee as she said in the statement that CRPF will leave the BJP alone in the state after some time and that will be the time when we (TMC workers) will see them. The kind of politics done in Bengal is the only reason behind mass hatred and violence in West Bengal as “Didi” told in her interview and said the oppositions party workers are no more protected if they make government in the state and “Khela Hobe” with those who chanted “Jai Shree Ram” in front of her.
Political thinkers even believe that
this kind of hatred can even lead to mass riots and communalism in the state as
politics is guiding people to work on communal matters rather than working on
developmental activities. Around 7-8 BJP party offices blazed, homes looted,
and molestation and gang-rape committed with the party workers and those who
voted for BJP.
Thus, the kind of hatred spread among
the people of West Bengal is the result of appeasement and polarization of one
religion in Bengal. The policy of communalizing the issues in West Bengal is
very harmful to the overall development. The government needs to focus on the
key issues of Bengal and works for the betterment of all equally.
