Delhi High Court on Saturday warns those who are involved in obstructing the oxygen supply and said “We will hang that person”. The court said if any officers of central, state or local administration found obstructing the oxygen supply to the Hospitals then it would hang that person.
The Bench led by Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha
Palli observed in the hearing plea filed by the Maharaja Agrasen Hospital over
the shortage of oxygen supply which is persisting for the last several days causing the death of severely ill Covid-19 patients. The Delhi High Court
said that we will hang that person who due to his/her cavalier behavior or by
intending to obstructs the oxygen supply to the hospital. The High Court
further said that “We will not spare anyone.”
Delhi government filed a plea over not receiving the
suitable amount of oxygen that is promised by the central government (480
metric tons). Delhi government also added that they are only getting the 380 MT
and on Friday they received only 300 MT. Delhi High Court reprimanded the
central government and asked “tell us when the promised amount of oxygen will
reach Delhi.”
Delhi High Court also asked the Delhi government to
inform the Central government about those officers who are obstructing the
oxygen transportation to Delhi and take action against them. Court even questions the Delhi government and said it's your duty to ensure smooth transportation of oxygen.
Earlier, in Shri Gangaram Hospital 25 patients died due to a lack of oxygen supply to the hospitals. It was also alleged by hospital staff that it takes around 2 hours by Delhi government's officers to transport oxygen.
On the other side, Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated
the oxygen plant in Gujarat whereas the Ram Mandir fund is also intended to set
up several oxygen plants at the Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Therefore, the Central and the Delhi government need to
work together by neglecting their political rivalry for the nation. The oxygen
crisis in the country will only stop when all the governments will start
working together by putting the country’s sake forward.
India’s current situation is grim as it records 346786
fresh new cases and 2624 died in the last 24 hours.
