The organization on April 14, 2021 recorded Deshmukh's statement on the case
The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered the case and is investigating allegations of corruption involving former Maharashtra Home Affairs Minister Anil Deshmukh, according to an agency official.
"The search was conducted at various locations," the official said on Saturday. The group had earlier launched an initial investigation into the allegations, following a ruling by the Bombay High Court. Mr Deshmukh's statement had previously been recorded by a team of investigators.
Statements by former Mumbai police chief Param Bir Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjay Patil and Suspended Police Assistant Sachin Vaze were taken by the CBI.
Jayshree Patil, who complains about the matter, also wrote his statement. Allegedly, some police officers have been ordered to collect cr 100 crore every month at bars and restaurants in Mumbai. After the High Court ordered the CBI to conduct an initial investigation, Mr. Deshmukh had resigned.
