Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp after being down several times this year, registered heavy loss in matter of few hours. And these social media giants being major instant messaging platforms, made users frustrated. Instagram learning the lesson is now testing feature to notify users of outage or issue inside app.
Instagram said it is
testing a feature to notify users of outages or technical issues
directly on the photo-sharing app, days after two outages disrupted the
social media giant's services.
Instagram Inc's Instagram said on Monday it was testing a feature to notify users of their exit or technical issues directly to the photo sharing app, after a few days of interruptions disrupting the communications company's services.
The trial will take place in the United States and will continue for a few months, Instagram said in a blog post.
On October 4, a six-hour long-term outage barred the company's 3.5 billion users from accessing its messaging services, including WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.

Earlier on Monday, many users encountered problems with Instagram, according to user reports in the web monitoring group Downdetector.
The company is also planning to roll out a feature that will help make it easier for people to know if their account is at risk of being disabled.
The social media giant, which has been the center of sensation and comedy on Twitter following the exit of the fund, also faces pressure from various whistleblowers especially Frances Haugen's allegations that the company was repeatedly making a profit rather than curbing hate speech and false information.
Haugen, who provided documents in support of the Wall Street Journal investigation and the Senate hearing on Instagram injuries to teenage girls, agreed to meet with Facebook executives in the coming weeks to inform them of what he had learned while working for the company.
