Temple vandalised, Shivalingam chopped off into pieces in Pudukkotai district Tamil Nadu

As per local reports, the Shivalingam had been hacked into pieces and the head of the Shiva idol has been chopped off.

In yet another temple demolition in Tamil Nadu, the Shiva temple in the Pudukkottai region has been vandalized, and images of idols have been destroyed by unknown assailants recently.

According to Thamarai TV, a group of unidentified assailants stormed the temple and destroyed Shivalingam and an idol of Lord Shiva installed at a local temple in Keezhanangudi village in Pudukkottai district last week.

This horrific act of vandalism alerted villagers as they entered the temple grounds last week. The locals are shocked to see damaged images of King Liva and Shivalingam under the temple. The attackers had cut Shivalingam into two pieces and then cut off the head of the idol Shiva.

Both Shivalingam and the idol were found damaged and lying on the ground in the temple, according to reports.
