So, at any level, the government is in touch with the Taliban, right? The Ministry of External Affairs had indicated in the past, we have always wanted to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan. For this, we are in touch with many stakeholders.

The story of the existence of the Taliban

From 1979 to 1989, Afghanistan was ruled by the Soviet Union. At that time America, Pakistan, and Arab countries continued to provide money and weapons to Afghan fighters (Mujahideen). When Soviet forces left Afghanistan, Afghan fighters came under one banner under the Mujahideen faction. The name of this group is the Taliban. However, at this time the Taliban has split into several factions.

There is a lot of Pashtun in western and northern Pakistan. This is the reason why the US sees the Afghan Taliban and the Taliban divided as Pakistan.

The Taliban terrorist organization consists of 90 percent tribal people. They are related to the madrasas of Pakistan. Taliban means student in the language of Pashto.

In 1999, an Indian Airlines plane was hijacked at Kandahar Airport in Afghanistan. At that time, the Taliban had blackmailed the Indian government at the behest of Pakistan.
