Microsoft said on Wednesday it would unveil the "next generation of Windows" on June 24. The move comes a week after CEO Satya Nadella mocked major improvements in PC software for developers and creators.

Windows, an operating system for human computers, is the source of 14% of the total revenue of Microsoft, one of the most important companies in the world. The company has published two updates each year to the Windows 10 operating system since it first became available in 2015.

Nadella said this about Windows last week shortly after the company announced it would not ship Windows 10X. That app was originally designed for dual-screen devices like Surface Neo, which has been delayed.

The company then increased its focus on single-screen PCs such as Windows 10X laptops before saying on May 18 that “instead of bringing a product called Windows 10X to market in 2021 as we originally intended, we are using learning from our journey so far to accelerate the integration of basic technology. -10X in some parts of Windows and products in the company. ”

Microsoft announced the latest Windows 10 update last month with just a few changes.

The company is working on a Windows update with the Sun Valley code name, which includes a modern look, with rounded corners coming to things like the Start Menu, the tech news website Windows Central reported in February. The site also claims that Microsoft may send updates to its Windows app store, which will allow developers to use third-party commercial systems, next to the Sun Valley update.

The event will be held online at 11 a.m. ET, at the invitation of the company that sent reporters. Nadella will be present, along with Panos Panay, Microsoft's chief product officer, who was the face of Surface's device devices, the invitation said.
