"As we celebrate yoga in the prestigious Times Square building - at the crossroads of the world, let's remind ourselves of embracing yoga around the world. Yoga was born in India but is part of the global heritage today. Yoga is about health, well - living in harmony with nature. Yoga is a way of life and we should try to do it completely, so that there is a peaceful society and a green planet, "Randhir Jaiswal, Consul General, told ANI.

"It has been a great experience to lead yoga, pranayama and meditation in Times Square NYC. Seeing thousands of yogis calm in the midst of endless city chaos," said Ruchika Lal, who participated in the event.

In line with this year's global theme - Yoga for Wellness - as co-founded by the United Nations (UN), the event showcased the full health, Ayurvedic products and environmental health from Tribes India (TRIFED) and other Indian companies. The tables have attracted a large number of visitors, eager to learn about the uniqueness of Indian Tribal, Ayurvedic and natural products.

A day-long yoga festival has given experienced yogis and beginners alike the opportunity to bring a yoga mat to a magnificent public place and participate in a free yoga session. Consulate General has distributed a package of products from TRIFED and other health products manufactured in India.

"I would love to practice Yoga in Times Square every year in Solstice. I want to thank Consulate for this donation," said one participant.
