IMA demanded personal intervention from PM Modi over assault of Doctors, writes a letter

Taking the care and caution in the event of attacks on doctors and other health care professionals, family members and relatives of the patients, of the Indian Medical Association (HARMONICS) on Monday wrote to Prime minister Narendra Modi demanding, and his personal intervention in order to ensure an "optimum environment for the health of the workers, so that they can work on it without fear. 

"In the midst of this pandemic, we are deeply hurt to see the increasing incidents of physical violence against the doctors and the health care professionals in this country," the IMA stated, and took note of the recent attack on one of their doctors in Assam, along with that the attacks on the female doctors, and their veteran medical practitioners . The Assam police, so far, in the last year of the 24 arrested for assault against the doctors on Covid-care center in the Hojai district on 1 June of that year.

The body of a doctor, who noted that the people who are spreading misinformation about Covid-19, vaccination, should be held accountable and be punished in accordance with the law, including the relevant provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897, of the Indian Penal code (IPC) and the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) also stated that the doctors who lost their lives at the same time, during giving the treatment to the patients fighting with Covid-19, the deceased should be considered as the martyrs of Covid-19 and they need to be acknowledged and their family needs to be taken under the Centre.
