Agriculture Minister Tomar said, Government is ready to resume talk over 3 farm laws

The Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on Friday that the Centre was ready to resume negotiations with the protesting farmers ' organisations, the provisions of the three controversial agrarian law, although he declined the withdrawal of three farm laws in the tweet.

The negotiations between the central government and agricultural protesting organizations have been deadlocked since the last meeting held on the 22nd of January, so far, the two sides have held 11 meetings. At a meeting held on the 22nd of January, the farmers unions and protesting farmer organization rejected the government's proposal to delay the adoption of the law for a maximum of 18 months, instead of repetition of the commission's proposal for the entire audience.

 The proposal to farm laws on hold was produced in front of farmers union was proposed in the tenth meeting which held on January 20 but, the government declined them from total withdrawal of three farm laws.

Earlier, on 11 November, the Supreme Court of India puts stay over the implementation of three farm laws till the further order passed.

Farmers, especially belonging from Punjab and Haryana have been protesting on the outskirts of Delhi against three farm laws. In addition to the complete withdrawal of the three farm laws, they also demanding legal assurance and separate act on Minimum Support Price (MSP). 

The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce Act, 2020; The Farmers’ Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; and The Essential Commodities Act, 2020, were passed in both the houses of parliament in September, 2020 and triggered the mass agitation along Delhi borders.
