Zoom Events will allow users to manage ticketing and registrations for large-scale events.
Zoom Events, a seemingly new major event hosting platform, was announced by video conferencing company on Wednesday, May 20. It replaces the OnZoom platform launched in October 2020 for small business events. Zoom Events has many features that aim to make the task of hosting major events easier, such as the event hub, sales and ticket management capabilities, registration tracking, and an integrated user access control dashboard. It will also allow attendees to meet during the event.
The new Zoom Events platform will be launched sometime this summer, or the exact launch date may be unknown. While OnZoom only caters to small businesses, Zoom Events will help host online events for small businesses, large organizations, or even entrepreneurs. Zoom Events will give users the ability to host a variety of events, from multi-day conferences to multi-track conferences. Users can sign up for notifications in Zoom Events on the company registration page.
Zoom Events will give businesses the ability to create a "hub" - a key event page where all of their multi-day events will be listed with relevant information about each experience. A Zoom spokesman told The Verge that event pages will also be able to preview video events. It will empower event organizers to host multi-event events such as conferences where attendees can connect to the reception area while waiting for the event to begin.
As mentioned, Zoom Events empowers event organizers to provide tickets and registration for attendees, as well as the ability to track these activities with an easy-to-use dashboard. This forum will help large businesses handle internal events such as all hands and trade conferences, or external events such as user conferences and consumer events. It will also give companies the power to integrate internal events together and make them more accessible to employees. Zoom states that OnZoom will cease to exist and will be automatically moved to the new platform once Zoom Events is fully operational.
