Sushil Kumar two time Olympic Medalist and by honor a senior commercial manager with Northern Railway, has been suspended following his arrest by Delhi police in connection with the murder of a colleague, a spokesman said on Tuesday. "Sushil Kumar has been suspended from his job in the Northern Railway while a criminal investigation is ongoing," Deepak Kumar said, according to ANI.
Sushil Kumar, who had been on the run for almost three weeks, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly being involved in the deaths of a 23-year-old wrestler at Chhatrasal Stadium, and a suspect Ajay from outside Delhi in Mundka.
On Tuesday, Kumar and his assistant Ajay were taken to Chhatrasal Stadium by Crime Branch police officers in Delhi to commit a crime where they allegedly killed Sagar Dhankad and died at the end of May 4. They were also taken to Shalalimar Bagh in this case. "Kumar was also taken to the spot to recreate the scene of crime and ascertain the sequence of events that unfolded on the day of incident," a senior police official quoted.
Kumar has been a delegate to the Delhi government since 2015 and has been appointed as the Special Operating Officer (OSD) at Chhatrasal Stadium to develop sports at school level. His position was extended last year and he applied for an extension in 2021 which was rejected by the Delhi government and was returned to his Northern Railway management, reports suggested.
Dhankad died on the morning of May 5, just hours after he and two friends were shocked by suspected Kumar and his accomplices. Police found that a dispute over Kumar's Model Town apartment, where Dhankad lived, erupted between the two parties.
Thus, the investigation of the case is in progress but the message which being reflected through this case that one should always be in the limits and hard-work rather being jealous of others. The feeling of haughtiness and selfish behavior may lead to increase in ego which results in several wrongdoers. As it is said that he may not intended to kill the junior wrestler but in the vigor and unrestrained mind he causes this heinous act.
