"However, the only instance of scuttling free speech on Twitter is Twitter itself and its opaque policies, as a result of which, accounts are suspended and tweets are arbitrarily deleted", the statement asserted.
The Indian government has come up with a strong verbal decision in a misleading and contradictory Twitter statement to the media today about Indian law and its so-called policies. The government has said "protecting free speech in India" is the responsibility of the Indian government and not the right of an independent, for-profit, foreign organization like Twitter.

Calling Twitter's statement "an attempt to dictate its terms to the world's largest democracy, the Department of Trade Unions for Electronics and IT said that by its actions and deliberate insults, Twitter wanted to undermine India's legal system. The department says Twitter refuses to comply with the same rules in the mediators' guidelines on the basis that it seeks the protection of safe ports from any criminal debt in India.

If Twitter is so committed, why didn't it launch such a system in India alone ?, the department asked, while saying Twitter representatives India always try to avoid responsibility by saying they do not have the authority and the Indian people will have access to Twitter headquarters in the USA. He called Twitter's ‘commitment to India’ claims as baseless and self-serving.

The department's statement went on to say that despite earning a lot of money from India, Twitter does not want to appoint an Indian grievance redressal system.

It says current laws by the IT department empower users who are victims of harassment, defamation and morphed images with a clear violation of the law and that the rules were made after extensive consultation with social media, and suggestions from individuals, civil society and industry organizations. There are also many judicial orders, including that of the Supreme Court, which calls on the Indian government to take appropriate action.

The department further added that freedom of speech is a fundamental right under the Indian constitution and that the Indian government respects the right of citizens to ask questions and criticize on social media, including Twitter. The government also respects the right to privacy.

"However, the only reason to discredit the free speech on Twitter is Twitter itself and its invisible policies, as a result, the accounts have been suspended and the tweets illegally deleted," the statement said.
Twitter has no place to decide what the framework of Indian law should be

“Twitter needs to stop deforestation and comply with Indian law. Legislation and policy formulation are the only rights of the king and Twitter is just a platform for communication. It will have no place in deciding what the legal framework of India should be, ”the statement said.

The department also provided examples of how Twitter violated Indian law and undermined the interests of the Indian people.

-It had shown parts of the Indian Union Territory as parts of China and it took a few days to correct the mistakes despite being reminded.

-Twitter has taken sun motu action against the perpetrators of the violence on Capitol Hill in the USA, but refused to take immediate action when GOI made a formal request to block content during a similar incident at Red Fort in Delhi.

The inactivity of Twitter's action has helped to increase the growing number of false and dangerous content against Indians and Indians. Doubtful of the goal is strongly encouraged by Twitter and the company is not taking action.

-The discriminatory behavior of Native Indians occurred as a result of Twitter's refusal to mark Covid's cruel B.1.617 distinctive mark as "Indian distinctive" despite the WHO guidelines contradicting it.

Finally, the department said Twitter is a private company and needs to stop lying and comply with Indian laws.

The government has also insisted that representatives of telecommunications companies in India, including those on Twitter, will always be safe and there will be no danger to their safety in India.

The government has called Twitter's statement baseless, untrue and Twitter's attempt to cover up their stupidity.
