PM Modi
Chaired a high-level meeting to review the prevailing Covid-19 situation and
the ongoing vaccination drive in the country. The meeting began at around 11 am
to resolving the concerns.
The senior-most officers across government departments attended this high-level meet with a PM including the officers of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The meet focused on how to control the massive surge in Pandemic and strengthen vaccination drive amid the Pandemic.
Prime Minister Modi on Friday said that the pandemic, the worst in 100 years, is testing the world at every step. There is an invisible enemy before us. PM Modi also warned the rural areas in the country to beware of the existing situation of the Pandemic, as in the last few days rural areas in the country have recorded a massive surge in the Pandemic.
Meanwhile, the country is suffering through a vaccine shortage as many state governments urged the center to increase the production of the vaccines by strengthening the vaccination manufacturing by giving the contract to other companies also to boost the vaccination production in the country. Amid the news of the vaccination shortage in the country, the country is all set to get its third vaccine Sputnik V which is scheduled to be available in the markets from next week.
Therefore, the Covid-19 situation is getting weak in the
country as the cases since last days as the cases in Northern India are in the
declining stage, but southern India is currently experiencing the peak of the
second Wave of the Pandemic. The vaccination drive is also needed to be
strengthened just after the departure of the Second wave because the queue of
people to avail of the vaccine can even cause a surge in the virus.
