Indian govt invites applications to grant Indian citizenship to refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh

 It is important to mention that only those people who are currently living in the districts of Morbi, Rajkot, Patan and Vadodara of Gujarat, Durg and Balodabazar in Chhattisgarh, Jalore, Udaipur, Pali, Barmer and Sirohi in Rajasthan, Faridabad in Haryana and Jalandhar in Punjab, are eligible to apply for Indian citizenship. 

The Modi government has invited applications from Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, Jains, and Buddhist Buddhists from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan and resides in 13 provinces of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Punjab to grant them Indian citizenship.

According to the report, the Union's Home Affairs Department has issued a notice requiring six members of the public who are being prosecuted to apply for a certificate of accreditation under the Citizenship Act 1955 and the national laws enacted under the 2009 law.

In exercising the power conferred on it under Section 16 of the Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1955), the central government directs that the power exercised by it be registered as an Indian citizen under Section 5, or the issuance of a certificate of recognition under section 6 of the Citizenship Act 1955 in respect of any minority "Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan namely, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians, live in the mentioned provinces and in the states mentioned below,.," Said a statement from the Department of Home Affairs.

Although the institute passed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in 2019 to grant citizenship to these persecuted non-Muslim minorities in the three neighboring countries, the institution will still enact laws. The new order has nothing to do with the National Amendment Act passed in 2019.
Citizenship may be granted under the laws of nature

It is important to note that only those people living in the Morbi, Rajkot, Patan and Vadodara districts of Gujarat, Durg and Balodabazar in Chhattisgarh, Jalore, Udaipur, Pali, Barmer and Sirohi in Rajasthan, Faridabad in Haryana and Jalandhar in the Punjab, have the right to claim Indian citizenship.

The notice stated that the application for registration as an Indian citizen under the prescribed rules (National Laws, 2009) will be made by the applicant online. Under environmental law, a person can obtain citizenship by naturalization if he or she has lived in India for 12 years and completed all qualifications in the third schedule of the Citizenship Act.

In issuing the notice, the Department of Home Affairs said the verification of the application was done simultaneously by the collector or secretary (Home) of Haryana and Punjab at the district and state level, which would be made simultaneously accessible on the website.

“The collector or secretary, as the case may be, conducts an investigation as it deems necessary to verify the suitability of the applicant and for that purpose submits the application online to such organizations for verification and comment as may be necessary in completing the Inquiry and instructions issued by the Agency from time to time. , ”Said the notice.

According to the notice, the collector or registrar will grant Indian citizenship by registration or personalization and issue a certificate of registration or citizenship if he or she is satisfied with the applicant's suitability. These records will be kept both online and in a physical register, subject to the rules.

"This order will come into effect on the date of publication in the official gazette and will remain in effect until further notice," the notice said.
