Coronavirus patients with mild or severe symptoms requiring urgent oxygen support can now contact auto-ambulances for reaching hospital as 10 such modified three-wheelers have been launched in Delhi.
Launched by AAP MP Rajya Sabha Sanjay Singh in association with TYCIA Foundation this Tuesday, these autorickshaw-turned-into-ambulances are equipped with an oxygen cylinders and sanitisers, and all required items a statement said.
The drivers wear PPE kits, and are trained to be safe.
These auto-ambulances have been started with an aim to ensure that patients with mild symptoms and having low oxygen levels around 85 to 90 can reach nearby hospitals in time for better treatment, a statement said.
The auto ambulance services ride can be booked through the two numbers provided — 9818430043 and 011-41236614. There are plans to include 20 more such auto-ambulances in the national capital's roads.
The NCT has so far recorded 12,53,902 coronavirus(Chinese Virus) cases, of which over 11.43 lakh have recovered. The death toll due to the viral disease stands at 18,063, according to Delhi government records.
The number of active cases in Delhi stands at 91,859.
