A minor fire broke out and all the occupants were safe, said a military spokesman.

There was a small fire on India's INS Vikramaditya aircraft carrier on the morning of May 8, a military spokesman said.

The fire was reported and all crew members on board were safe, a spokesman said in a statement.

“Crews were looking for smoke from the ship's hull with a seating area. The crew worked quickly to put out the fire. All crew members on board were listed and no major damage was reported, "the statement said.

The incident is being investigated, he said, adding that the airport manager was at the Karataka harbor in Karwar.

The warship is a renovated Kiev class aircraft carrier war ship purchased by India from Russia in 2013 and renamed in honor of Vikramaditya, the famous emperor.

Originally built as Baku and shipped in 1987, the commander was in charge of the Soviet Union (until the dissolution of the Soviet Union) and the Russian Russians before being deported in 1996, costly to operate.

INS Vikramaditya, a floating airport, has a total length of 284 meters and a high frame of 60 meters, which expands about three football fields.

Standing about 20 floors from the crisis to the highest point, the ship has 22 floors in total and carries about 1,600 crew.
