Shortly after the BCCI announced the postponement, President Sourav Ganguly confirmed that IPL 2021 would not be completed in India. He also revealed that the board will consider installing the IPL in the September window. Since then, England and the UAE have emerged as top destinations.
Commenting on the termination of IPL 2021 in the UK after a series of five Test matches between India and England and before the T20 World Cup, former England spinner Monty Panesar noted that the choice should not be made due to weather conditions in England in September. Panesar has revealed that the region is receiving heavy rainfall over the affected month, which could end up playing spoilsport for the league's richest league. He also added that extreme weather could disrupt the fun.
Meanwhile, several other sportsman and sports enthusiast suggested different venues for the remaining matches of the IPL as per their own knowledge about the Pitch and conditions. Experts also suggested that IPL need to be scheduled in the country where Covid-19 negligible or at very low rate.
Thus, around 31 games, of a 60-match tournament, are yet to be played. Prior to stopping, Delhi Capitals were leading the table with six wins in eight games. The game need to be scheduled in September as the other months are already booked with other international matches which includes T20 world Cup and Ind-Eng Test series.
