The IAF has now got 20 of the 36 Rafale jets contracted from France.

The sixth batch of three Rafale fighter jets arrived India this Wednesday. In this regard, the IAF received 20 of the 36 jets signed by France.

Last month, during a five-day visit to France, IAF chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria announced the fifth batch of three jets from the airline Merignac. The fifth boat marks the end of the training of a third batch of pilots and maintenance personnel, ACM Bhadauria said at the time.

The first Rafale team, No. 17 Golden Arrows, based in Ambala is complete and the second team is based in Hasimara in West Bengal. Soldiers flew about 5,000 miles [8,000 km] with the help of air-conditioning.

Last September, the IAF introduced the first batch of five Rafales under the Inter-Governmental Agur agreement signed in September 2016 with 13 India Specific Enhancements (ISE).
