"We sympathize with the people of India in the wake of the terrible outbreak of COVID-19," Mr Blinken tweeted on Saturday night.
"We are working closely with our partners in the Indian government, and we will immediately send additional support to the Indian people and health care heroes in India," Mr Blinken said.
U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the United States is deeply concerned about the massive COVID outbreak in India.
With a one-day increase in 3,49,691 new coronavirus infections, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India rose to 1,69,60,172, while active cases exceeded the 26-lakh mark, according to Department of Health data updated Sunday.
The death toll has risen to 1,92,311 with a daily recording of 2,767 young people.
White House News Secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday that the United States was working closely with Indian political officials and experts to find ways to help resolve the issue.
Deputy State Department spokeswoman Jalina Porter also told reporters that the United States continues to work with India to facilitate the flow of essentials and to address the challenges of supply chains.
Many U.S. legislatures, prominent American Indians and powerful US Chambers of Commerce have expressed their concern over the state of India and called on Biden officials to provide assistance, issue policies and other sensitive consumer goods in India.
