The Apex Court on Thursday issued notice to the Central government over the seeking the National Planning to handle the oxygen supply, essential drug supply, and the functioning of the vaccination method. SC demanded the urgent plan as the Covid-19 situation is getting worsen day by day in the country.
The bench comprises CJI Sharad. A Bobde, Justice L. Nageshwara Rao, and Justice S. Ravindra Bhat said they will also emphasize the judicial power of the High Court to declare lockdown amid the Pandemic. SC further stated that at least six High courts are hearing the persisting situation of the Covid-19 and the ongoing cases in these High Courts are creating confusion.
The Supreme Court further appointed the advocate Harish Salve as “Amicus Curiae” in the "suo moto" case for managing the Covid-19 situation.
India reported the world’s highest surge in a single day as the cases reach above the 3 Lakh mark (314835 cases) and 2104 deaths in the last 24 hours by surpassing the USA in terms of cases in a single day for the highest surge in the world. The functioning seems very poor as most of the patients are taking treatment in ambulances.
Thus, the situation in India is getting worsen day by day as the second wave of the Pandemic is proven to be disastrous for the Indians. India is severely lacking health facilities due to the population explosion in the country the ICU beds, oxygen cylinders and medications are running out of stock. The administration fails to deliver demanded resources as it lacks efficiency in the system.
