Russian vaccine Sputnik V is ready to march into the
Indian boundaries as the government approves it for emergency use. The Subject
Expert Committee (SEC) approved Dr. Reddy’s Sputnik V for emergency use.
Sputnik V is best known for its efficacy report that is above 90%.
The Indian government also analyzed the safety measure
and the efficacy report of the vaccine which shown perfect results. However,
many Indian states flagged up the shortage of vaccines due to the harsh
conditions are arising day by day.
India is currently facing a disastrous second wave of the
Pandemic with the number of cases increasing each day as India reaches more
than 12-Lakh active cases in the country.
In these harsh circumstances, this news looks very
promising as Sputnik V has already completed the 3rd trial and shown high
immunogenicity.
India currently has 2 local vaccines namely Covishield
and Covaxin which are trusted by people at the mass level and as a result that
more than 100 million people are vaccinated in the country. India is eyeing to
receive around five more vaccines by Quarter 3 of 2021. India is already
undergoing the “Tika Utsav” initiative by Prime Minister Modi which is started
on April 11 and last till April 14.
Thus, India looks poised to tackle these harsh
circumstances by the toll of vaccines is increased to three by adding the
Sputnik V into it.
