Police in response to reports of kidnappings said on Friday that they had found more than 90 people packed into a two-story house in Houston on suspicion of being used in a trafficking operation.

The 90 victims, all about five men, were evacuated and given food and water, said Daryn Edwards, a Houston deputy police chief.

"They were there wearing their basic clothes and everything, they were all fighting together. So that's what we saw when we came in," he said. No children were found among them.
At least most people show signs of infection with COVID-19, including the flu and a lack of taste or smell, Edward says. The victims told police they had not eaten recently.

The victims were provided with protective clothing and placed on white buses. It is not yet clear how they were taken.

Local and foreign investigators and cultural observances were seen in the house as well as local police and firefighters.

Edwards said no arrests had been made since Friday afternoon and declined to give further details, saying the investigation was ongoing.
