The incident, which marks the deadliest violence between Israel and Syria in recent years, points to Iran's possible involvement.

A missile launched from Syria striked Israel's Negev desert area early this Thursday, setting off air raid sirens near the country's top-secret nuclear reactor, the Israeli military stated. In response, it stated it had hit a Missile launcher and other targets in neighboring country Syria.

The incident, which marks the deadliest violence between Israel and Syria in recent years, points to Iran's possible involvement.

Iran, which keeps troops and lawyers in Syria, has blamed Israel for a series of attacks on its nuclear facilities, including a recent fire at its nuclear facility, Natanz, and promised revenge.

The Israeli army said the missile had landed in the Negev region and air sirens were heard in a village near Dimona, where a nuclear power plant was located.

And there was no sound of the trumpet, and no sound was heard in all Israel.

Israel and Iran are major enemies. Israel accuses Iran of trying to build nuclear weapons and opposes US-led efforts to renew international nuclear agreement with Iran.

The Israeli government says the agreement will not prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. It also says it is not considering Iran's long-range missile program and its support for hostile proxies in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza.

Iran says its nuclear program is for peace purposes only, and has also noted that Israel is believed to have a nuclear weapons program in Dimona.

Israel does not prove or deny that it has nuclear weapons.
