PRESIDENT RAM NATH KOVIND APPOINTED JUSTICE NV RAMANA AS THE 48thCHIEF JUSTICE OF INDIA
On Tuesday President of India Ram Nath Kovind Ji sworn justice NV Ramana appointed as a 48 chief justice of India. He took his oath today, after the retirement of present CJI SA Bobde, CJI Bobde recommended Justice Ramana as his success.
The President is pleased to appoint Supreme Court Judge NV Raman from 24 April 2021 in The exercise of the powers conferred by Clause(2) of Article 124 of the Constitution, as per the notification issued by the Ministry of Law.
According to the MOP, the appointment in the offices of the Chief Justice of India should be in the form of a senior judge of the Supreme Court, who is considered fit to hold the office Both the Central Government and the CJI have followed the seniority criterion and as prescribed under the Memorandum of Procedure for judicial appointments.
ABOUT JUSTICE NV RAMANA
He was born into a humble family of The agriculturist in Ponnavaram village of Krishna district in undivided Andhra Pradesh. Justice NV Ramana enrolled as an Advocate on 10 February 1983.
In addition to working on the advisory panel for various government bodies, he also served as Additional Standing Counsel for the Central Government, standing counsel for Railways at the Central Administrative Tribunal in Hyderabad, and Additional Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh.

Justice NV Ramana was appointed as a permanent job in the Andhra Pradesh High Court in June 2008. He served as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court from September 2013 and went on to become a Judge of the Supreme Court from February 2014.
While serving as a Judge The Justice NV Ramana was responsible for the Supreme Court Bench that Dealing with cases like The fast-tracking of lawsuits against legislators and Restrictions imposed in Jammu and Kashmir when Article 370 of the Constitution was being repealed.
He was also a part of the bench that sought to align 4G mobile Internet in Jammu and Kashmir and was a member of the General Council of the National Law School of India University Bangalore, he was also the Chairman of the Library Committee of Indian Law Institute, Delhi.
