Biden Invites PM Modi and 39 other World Leaders for Climate Change Summit

United States Government, to host a summit on Climate Change and 40 World leaders have been invited for the same. The virtual Leaders Summit will be live-streamed for public viewing. The Summit will take place on April 22 and 23.

The 40 leaders to be invited have been listed on the official website of THE WHITE HOUSE which includes PM Narendra Modi, President Xi Jinping, PM Boris Johnson. While PM Imran Khan remains missing from the list, which is a bit shocking as Pakistan aims to build several projects based on conventional energy production instead of Renewable Energy Sources.

This summit will highlight the urgent need to address climate change and the economic as well as climatic benefits of doing so. It is also a prelude to the United Nations Climate Change Conference(COP26) to be held in Glasgow in November.

The US after a long time seems concerned about climate change as President Joe Biden vehemently presented this issue during his election campaign and various other global summits unlike under Trump leadership it pulled out from Paris Agreement let alone supporting it.

This summit has a very important agenda to shape the coming future which seems to head towards rising Global Average Temperature, which has already shown its repercussions in the form of Heatwaves, typhoons, rising sea levels, etc. Future seems darker if not acted upon this issue timely.
