New Delhi. CBI has arrested five persons for allegedly posting defamatory posts on social media against judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and Supreme Court. Officials said on Sunday that the role of YSR Congress Lok Sabha member Nandigam Suresh and another YSR Congress leader Amanchi Krishna Mohan is under investigation in this case.
The investigating agency has questioned both of them in view of the possibility of some big conspiracy.
CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said that the agency has questioned some people, including an MP, a former MLA, to investigate any major conspiracy. Not only this, but the CBI is also investigating the role of some other people in this case.
Many of these names are not in the FIR. Let us inform you that the agency had arrested two people Pattapu Adarsh and L Samba Siva Reddy from Andhra Pradesh in the same case on Saturday. Earlier on July 28, the CBI had arrested Dhami Reddy Konda Reddy and Pamula Sudhir in the same case.
Not only this, on July 9, the CBI arrested Lingareddy Rajasekhara Reddy, a resident of Kuwait, on his arrival in India. An official also said that the agency was monitoring the activities of Lingareddy.
As soon as Lingareddy reached India, the CBI team took him into custody.The CBI had registered a case against 16 people for posting derogatory posts against judges. The agency has made these arrests after investigation.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court had asked the CBI to investigate the matter and file the report in a sealed cover. CBI spokesperson said that it is alleged that the accused deliberately made derogatory posts on social media against judges and the judiciary to target the judiciary.
Recently, the Supreme Court had expressed serious concern about the safety of judges, saying that when complaints are made to agencies like police, IB, or CBI, many times they do not pay attention to it and do not even reply.
