In the first cabinet meeting, the Modi government took this decision for the farmers.

After the expansion of the Union Cabinet, the first cabinet meeting has been completed.In this meeting being held through video conferencing, it was decided to benefit the farmers.

After the meeting, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar told that the cabinet has decided that one lakh crore rupees will be provided to the farmers through the mandis.

Tomar said that farmer groups will get a loan of Rs.2 crore. Mandis will be able to use infrastructure funds. 

He said that it has been decided that APMC will be able to use the funds of one lakh crore rupees.

APMC (Agriculture Produce Market Committee) mandis will be strengthened and resources will be provided.

Agriculture Minister Tomar appealed to the farmers protesting against the agricultural laws of the Center and said that for the interest of the farmers, the central government is doing what it has said. He said that APMC will not end but will become stronger.

After the implementation of agricultural laws, they will get crores of rupees from the infrastructure fund of the Centre.

23 thousand crore package for health emergency

Along with this, the Union Cabinet approved a package of Rs 23 thousand crore for Health Emergency.

New Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who was present in the press conference after the cabinet meeting, said that preparations are being made to deal with the possible third wave of corona virus infection.

Mandaviya said that this package was described as a package to deal with the challenges of the future.  He said that 15 crore would be given by the Center and eight crore by the state. 

Apart from this, provision has been made to set up PCUs in 736 districts.  He said that the help of final year medical students will be taken to deal with the third wave of Corona.

The Health Minister said that preparations are being made to store 10,000 liters of medical oxygen in every district. With this, two lakh 44 thousand new beds will be made in the country.
He said that we have to fight together against Covid. 

The limitation period is a maximum of nine months. We have to do it fast.  States have to do this quickly.

CEO will be appointed in Coconut Development Board

At the same time, it was decided that now the CEO will be appointed in the Coconut Development Board. 

The Agriculture Minister said that to increase the cultivation of coconut, we are amending the Coconut Board Act. 

Now the Chairman of the Coconut Board will be a non-official person.  He will be from the farming community, who will have good knowledge and understanding about this work.
