Daughter of Afghanistan envoy to Pakistan kidnapped in Islamabad
In a shocking incident, Silsela Alikhail, the daughter of Afghanistan's ambassador to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhel, was abducted in Islamabad on Friday. According to Afghan authorities, Silsela was abducted for hours and tortured by unknown individuals
In a statement, Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry expressed deep regret. The department said it "strongly condemns this heinous act". Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry has expressed "grave concern for the safety and security of the embassies, their families, and the staff of Afghan Afghan diplomats in Pakistan."
Silsela is currently under medical care at the hospital. The Afghan Foreign Ministry has called on the Pakistani government to take "urgent action" to ensure "the full security of the Afghan Ambassador and Consulates as well as the protection of the country's ambassadors and their families" in accordance with international agreements.
The 27-year-old boy went missing around 2.30pm local time near House 35, Street 13 F7 / 2 near Rana Market. His shoes and cell phone are gone.
The Afghan government is following up on the issue with the Pak government and has urged Islamabad to "identify and prosecute" the perpetrators as soon as possible.
This is not the first time strategists and their families have been attacked. Indian lawyers have previously faced harassment in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, which has become increasingly common.
