New Delhi: There will now be a judicial inquiry in France in the case of alleged corruption in the Rafale fighter jet deal with France. The French government has also appointed a judge, taking the decision to investigate the Rs 59 thousand crore Rafale deal.
This information has been given in a report by the French media journal Mediapart. It has been said in this report that in the year 2016, the highly sensitive investigation of this deal between the two countries was formally started on June 14.
The French website had published several reports in April 2021 regarding alleged irregularities in the Rafale deal. In 2016, India had signed a deal to buy 36 Rafale aircraft from France, out of which 24 aircraft have been received by India. Congress has once again raised questions on the Modi government on this matter.
Congress has once again intensified attacks on the Modi government regarding the deal to purchase 36 Rafale fighter jets. The Congress, which has already been raising this issue, has now demanded an inquiry from the Joint Parliamentary Committee in India as well.

BJP denies allegations of wrongdoing
BJP has been calling Congress's attack on Rafale absurd. She denies the allegation of any wrongdoing in the deal and sees no need for an investigation.
The issue of investigation into the Rafale deal had also reached the Supreme Court, but it was not considered worthy of investigation. Even in the 2019 elections, this issue did not work for the opposition, but the Congress feels that the kind of disturbances that have happened in this deal, the Modi government will have to come under its control sooner or later.
