Transgenders are 'absolutely disgusting' says Czech President Milos Zeman

Czech President Labels Transgender People as ‘Disgusting’

Milos Zeman

The Czech President, Milos Zeman has taken the transgender community, calling it "absolutely disgusting" as vitriolic views aimed at sex offenders by political leaders in the rise of the European Union wing.

Zeman, whose role is mostly military and powerless, criticized women activists, Me Too movements and Pride Month events as he sought to protect Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in his fight against the EU over LGBTQ rights.

Zeman said in a TV interview "he understands homosexuals and lesbians," but the change in sex became a crime of self-harm.

"All surgery is dangerous," he told Prima TV on Sunday. "And for me, passersby are utterly disgusted."

The EU Commission has raised legal action against Hungary law banning child content that could be considered "promoting homosexuality." The bill, which includes the LGBTQ community and pedophilia, extended a law adopted last year that prohibited same-sex marriages and barred couples from having children.

In Poland, another post-communist EU member who was opposed to Brussels over the law, President Andrzej Duda made his opposition to gay rights the essence of his re-election last year.

Zeman, who won his second and final five-year term in 2018, is a divisive figure in the Central European nation of 10.7 million. During the migration crisis in Europe, Zeman campaigned to prevent Muslim refugees from entering the country by introducing terrorism and imposing Sharia law.
