On Tuesday (June 10), the Senate of the Czech republic has adopted a resolution to boycott the winter Olympics scheduled for next year in Beijing, China.
According to the Czech Senate, the government is going to withdraw from the Olympics due to the violation of human rights, which is related to the Tibetans, the uyğurların, and others. "The government and political representatives of the united states of america had declined the invitation to take part in the Olympic Games in China and, because of their involvement would be to be able to be abused in order to justify a further discrimination, violence, and oppression, and of the respect for fundamental rights," the resolution reads. The resolution was presented for consideration by the Senate, the Speaker of Pavel Fischer and were approved by the ministers for Foreign affairs, Security and Defence policy.

The resolution also highlighted the unmet promises made at the 2008 Olympic games. He also noted that China's failure to meet its obligations prior to the 2008 Olympic games. The senate also urged the Government to discuss the matter with the relevant bodies of the UN. At the same time, the Czech Olympic Committee to ensure that China complies with the principles enshrined in the Olympic Charter, and to use the incident for political propaganda.
