“The full integration of China is a historic need and a great revival of the Chinese nation is an unstoppable practice. The common desire of the people is peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. ‘Taiwan’s independence’ is a mysterious road and the quest means war, ”the statement quoted Gooqiang as saying.

Gooqiang reminded the US that it fully understood China’s growth and development with foreign focus and called on the US to adhere to China’s single policy. China views Taiwan as a rebel province and has recently increased political and military pressure.

Taiwan's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu said the nation needed to prepare for a possible military conflict due to China's growing terrorist tactics. Taiwan has reported several attacks on its airspace by Chinese warplanes. Gooqiang also said that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) had sent various planes to exercise in the Taiwan Strait. He emphasized that the move was necessary to address the current situation across the Taiwan Strait and the need for China to protect its sovereignty. In retaliation, the US increased its support for Taipei.

G7 leaders have issued a statement earlier condemning Beijing for human rights abuses and highlighting the need for peace and stability throughout Taiwan Strait. The U.S. Navy continues to march on Taiwan Strait every month.
