Central Government announces the vaccination pricing criteria for Private Hospitals

The Union Government of India today announced the Pricing Criteria for the vaccination in Private hospitals. The Central Government on Tuesday Evening fixed the Maximum Price that a Private Hospital can charge over the Covid-19 vaccines. The Vaccine list includes two Indian Origin vaccines that are Covaxin and Covishield and one Russia-based vaccine namely Sputnik V.


Meanwhile, the price fixed for the different vaccines is not the same whereas the Bharat Biotech-based Covaxin is charged very high. The maximum Price for Covaxin is fixed at ₹1410 whereas for Covishield it is ₹780. The Russian origin vaccine Sputnik V is finalized at the maximum price of ₹1145. This rate upon the vaccines also includes several taxes incurred in it and for about ₹150 charges as a service tax.

 

The Central Government advised the State Governments to keep a check on the Vaccination and monitor the levy over that so that no one can spoil the rates of service tax that is about ₹150. The Central government further advised the States to monitor or take serious action against those vaccination centers, which are not following the guidelines related to the pricing and charging more for providing vaccines.


Therefore, the immense need for the vaccination in Country has emerged at large due to the consequences of the monstrous second wave of the Pandemic. The Common Man nowadays also woke up about the significance of the vaccination after suffering through the cruel or harsh circumstances created that by the Second Wave. The Second Wave triggered the importance of the vaccine in the eyes of the common public.
