The Delhi Metro today advised commuters to take out extra time and strictly follow the due diligence of COVID-19 as rail services resumed on Monday after being closed for almost a month.In the guidelines issued today, the Delhi government mandated that metro rail services be allowed to operate with only 50 per cent seating capacity.
Delhi Metro Department tweeted from its official handle, "Public is advised to take extra time for their daily commute and also to demonstrate appropriate COVID behavior outside the stations."
The entry of stations will be regulated through the marked gates as it used to be earlier, the metro department said, adding that directions have been issued to the officials to maintain order during rush hours.
Metro services, considered to be the lifeline of the national capital, were suspended on May 10 due to a surge in COVID cases.

The opening of the services is a part of the Delhi government's plan to gradually reopen the economy as cases have seen a decline in recent weeks.
The government has also announced the opening of markets and shopping malls in the city with an odd-even formula similar to the strategy adopted to beat air pollution in the national capital.
Private offices can be opened with working hours with 50 per cent manpower.
Work-from-home mode should still be widely used, the government has advised.
